Continuation of the Last Post

Any who, the group project was chilled and the course material seems pretty easy so I'm guessing this semester isn't going to be that bad compared to others.

It does seem that I will be doing more work but I think its an ok thing because of the fact that this is my last semester and I'm heading off to law school which is no joke.

So I guess and early preparation is ok with me.

The Dodgers lost yesterday but they are currently leading 6-1 right now so hopefully they can win tonight.

Well I'm off to look over my old French work so I can perhaps at least gain something from it.

Wish me luck!

I'm all in!

I Did it!!

So my previous performance was good enough and I was signed on to the team!! I'm officially playing baseball for the season in Division 2 of the Long Beach league. I'm beyond stoked for this!!

Today we had a game but the best part of it was that we were playing at Blair Field, now if you are not familiar with what Blair Field is, here it is:

The place is straight up legit.

It seriously felt like I was playing pro baseball.

Any who, it was an intense game because the pitcher and me had an exchanging of words- apparently the guy doesn't know how to pitch to someone if they are batting inside and would result to hitting the players. I didn't like that and almost got into with him but he was afraid of the confrontation and I ended up just getting into his head. He end up losing because afterwards his pitches were pretty sad and my team took advantage of it.

Nonetheless, we won the game 8-6. I can't wait to play another game here.

I had a very good game and I was pleased with my performance. It feels good getting back to playing baseball.

On an another note...

Oh and eff the Cubs for ending the Dodgers winning streak!

In less than 30 minutes, the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox will be decking it out. It shall be a badass game.

I'm predicting that there will probably be a clearing of the benches but nonetheless the Yankees will win.

Lets do this!!

It is Official....

The National League West is now competitive amongst its own and in the NL.

If you look at the records of the Dodgers, Rockies and Giants, you are basically seeing the best teams of the National League sans the 1st place teams of the East and Central Division.

Nonetheless, its has become a fact that the Dodgers seriously need to step into a new gear and start a winning streak because both the Rockies and the Giants are on their tail.

Any misfortune right now can cause some serious trouble to the Dodgers so I think I should call Joe Torre and give him a motivation speech to pass on the players because this shit is ridiculous. How is it possible that we had the best record in all of MLB and now we are playing sloppy and putting ourselves in danger?

That is unacceptable and must change immediately.

Correction: Will Change Immediately!

According to a few friends of mine in the business informed that many NL Gms believe the Rockies are going to take the West....I call that boulderdash and would like to know the names of the GMs so I can slap them with my Dodger dog and put them in their place.

Now I'm not knocking on Rockies nor the Giants since they are both playing very good baseball but....

This is our year and the Dodgers are going to win it all.

Future HoF John Smoltz

Well well well, look who we have here?

SP/RP John Smoltz and he's available to sign onto any team he wants.

Where is he going to go?

Many experts believe that he will end up in the National League but I would like to go into a deeper analysis as to where exactly he might end up at.

But before I get into it, let me give you a heads up and informed that I do have sources (who work for the league) who let me know the 411 of what's going on so that means, just like the guys from Baseball Tonight, I know the same people they know.

So lets begin.

Before John Smoltz had gone to the Red Sox, he was the SP/RP of the Atlanta Braves and the only two reason why he left the Braves was because they were not giving him the money he wanted and he wanted to be a full time starter.

With that said, before John Smoltz was designated for assignment, he was asked if he wanted to be part of the relief rotation but he refused because he still thought he had something left in the tank. Therefore, any team that is inquiring about should know that he wants to be a starting pitcher and it will be rare if he decides to become a relief pitcher for a new team.

Now according to my sources, there are three actual teams that are in serious talks with Smoltz and those three teams are: The Los Angeles Dodgers, St. Louis Cardinals and the San Francisco Giants.

The Dodgers desperately need a new pitcher and Smoltz fits that need. It is understood that the Dodgers were the first to contact him and seriously pushing for him.

The Cardinals would be a perfect fit for Smoltz services but the only bad thing is that the Cardinals only want him for relief pitching so that might not work unless Smoltz agrees.

Now it was a shocker to find out that the Giants were serious about him but it does make sense if he goes there sense he is a sort of Greg Maddux esque and will be able to a mentor to that young staff.

So with all the three being in serious talks with Smoltz, I believe he will end up with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Lets see what happens.

My Try Out for the baseball squad

Well originally I was supposed to go with my bro Don to Lil Tokyo for a festival thing but unfortunately the plans got adjusted last second.

You see, yesterday I got called on to have a try out to play for a division 2 baseball team in Long Beach. I couldn't believe I was actually getting my chance to play again. The coach had called me and talked about needing a new player and he saw my stats from previous years and figured they would give me a shot to make the team. Of course I said yes for the opportunity because it meant a lot to me.

Just to give you a heads up, I have not played actual competitive baseball since March so you can imagine I was a little rusty.

So I'm at the game and I must admit, it's not easy trying to jump on an established team- and it's even more difficult for me since I'm not the most open person either.

Nonetheless, I was given my opportunity to show what I am capable of and I must say, I did an ok job. I was a little disappointed in my performance because I know I could have done a much better job and also because everyone on the team was straight up pro player status but hey, those were the cards that were dealt to me today. The best thing about it though was that we won the game so I was happy about that!

I'm hopeful I'll get a call back for next week so we see what happens.

Well that's all for now folks.

BJs during a Dodgers game...

Lol now I'm sure I got your attention with my headline and I'm sure your scratching your head thinking...is Bruce talking about getting a BJ during the dodgers game? But what I'm really talking about is my experience at the new BJs restaurant in Downey and how I was watching the Dodgers game there.

Now in case you didn't know, a new BJs restaurants opened this month in Downey, right were stonewood mall is located. Before you hop into your car and head out there, let me give you a warning: the place has horrible service! Now I understand that the place is new but in reality there are some things that shouldn't happen at a restaurant- such as messing up seating and having to wait 45mins for your food only for it to be cold but that's exactly what happened to my family today at BJs.

It was a complete joke and quite frankly I don't plan on going there any time soon so I don't recommand it to anyone. Fuck that place- One a scale of 1-10, I give an epic failure and to only add salt to the wound-the dodgers played another horrible game while I was at BJs!

Now the sports part:

We are slowly losing our lead in our division and the Dodgers need to knock that shit out or else they are going to be spending October at home! We had at some point at 10 game lead and now its merely 5.5 lead which in retrospect means that if the Dodgers suffer a bad streak, they can end up seeing themselves trailing another team!

So Dodgers, I'm calling you out! Pick your shit up and play like a champion- LA is due for world series and this our year!

Arizona Flavored Teas

Do you remember when you first had your first Arizona flavor tea? Now if you have no clue of what I'm talking about or merely have never bothered to get one before, I want you to slap yourself, stop reading this and the get the fuck off the chair and go buy one!!

Back to my point. I remember my first time buying my drink: I was walking with my good friends Pishoy "the Oil eater" Haroun and Matt Longo from Griffiths Middle school and we stopped at the dairy market/ liquor store on the corner of Florence and Tweety ( I think) Any ways, we were going to get our typical drinks at the time which usually were some brand of soda but on that particular day, the asian lady when up to us and was like (In a Miss. Swan voice) "Oh hi, try dis new drink....isha good for you, oh yes. go buy buy."

So we all looked at each other with an are you effin serious expression but after thinking it over and realizing we each only had like 2 bucks on us each, we were sold by the asian lady's pitch and we each bought one. I remember buying a kiwi strawberry one and from the moment I tasted the first drop, I felt an instant orgasmic sensation run throughout my body! I couldn't believe how good this drink was- it was far better than any other soda and the best thing was that it was only 99 cents!!!

It was such an amazing drink for such an amazing price. Since that day, I knew that if I were ever thirsty and was running low on the funds, I could depend on an Arizona Flavored Tea to save the day!

So get off your ass and go buy one and while your at it, get me one too please. Thanks

P.S. I think Pishoy was looking for an Oil Flavored Arizona Tea that day....LMAO

This is our Year!

A few months ago on my twitter account, I made a bold prediction right around Interleague that this year's World Series would include the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees.

As the season continues, I'm still sticking to the prediction. Both teams are leading their division and both teams seem like they are destined to meet each other.

With all the trades that were made before the deadline and the more that will probably be made during the waiver period, I think regardless of which team gets another player, these teams are still going to meet. Many writers such as Jon Heyman and Ken Rosenthal like to wrap it up and give the title to teams such as the Phillies or the Red Sox but I for one don't agree with their reasoning especially after neither of those writers really give credit to any team except one named the Red Soxs or the Yankees so it kind of makes it difficult to trust their reasoning.

I guess you can say I'm bias since I've been rooting for the Dodgers since I was kid but the reality of the matter is that this truly is our year. This years Dodgers remind me of the Yankees that went on to win their first world series under the helm of Joe Torre.

Funny thing that both the Dodgers and the Yankees are being managed under Joe's so its only a matter of time before they both meet.

Nonetheless, I just wanted to write down some thoughts down and end it on this

The only sports writers/reporters that actually know their stuff in the baseball world are: Buster Olney and Peter Gammons. Those are two guys I actually respect and listen to so everyone else can either follow in their footsteps or jump off a cliff and don't waste the time of the fans.
