Good Citizen of the Month

Ok this one is going to require you to go back to the golden years and think about your elementary years and perhaps your middle school years if your school was lame.

Any ways, today as I was driving when all of a sudden I saw this car with a sticker on it saying my child is the good citizen of month at blank school. I started thinking......what the fuck is the point of that award? I mean yes a school is promoting children to be good individuals/responsible but seriously, is the award necessary?

I mean I'm sure your thinking, gee Sawyer I bet you never got one of those awards but the reality of the fact is that I did receive that shit- multiple times to be exact, I don't really know why because as far as I know teachers hated the fact that my ADD was a distraction to all.

Now that I'm older and more wiser- I really don't see the point in handing out that award. I mean who really gives a shit if you got that award. It proves the point that the teacher liked you best either for being the smartest kid in the class or you were merely a teacher's pet.

What's even more sad than getting the award is having your parents actually place that shit on their car! I mean think about it....your parents are promoting that their child is a little teachers pet and wasn't good enough to get any other award besides the most pointless one available.

I am extremely grateful my parents never put that shit on their car or else who knows what my life would have end up like.

The moral of the story is this: schools please stop giving those pointless awards out and parents really need to set higher expectations for their children if they are going to be satisfied with a "Good Citizen of the month award"

(If you can find me a picture of one of those bumper stickers, let me know so I can put it up)

That is all for now.
